Thank you, Toledo bluegrassers, we had a blast!
The music was jammin' last night at the Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Hall in Toledo, Ohio, last night when bands from around the area played a healthy set in special honor of the longest-running bluegrass jam in Ohio - 40 years now! One of its founding members, Chester, was also honored for his 90th birthday, too, with a sheet cake and much merry-music-making. The Fossil Creek Band and I played a great bunch of tunes, and had a blast!! I'm only sorry I couldn't stay for the jam, which happened when the bands stopped playing around 8:30 pm. It was a long drive back home for me, but the people there sure made it worth the while! Orange Blossom Special and Wabash Cannonball both brought the house down, and everyone enjoyed our original as well as traditional bluegrass songs.
Thank you, Toledo bluegrassers, we had a blast!
