About Krista...
Krista Solars, 26, is a recent graduate of Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music with a Master's Degree in Violin Performance. In 2010, she earned a Bachelor's Degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music - also in Violin Performance. In addition to her concentration in classical violin, Krista also plays baroque violin and fiddle music. A few teachers she has studied violin with include Milan Vitek, Ik-Hwan Bae, Alexander Kerr, Stanley Ritchie, and Simin Ganatra (of the Pacifica Quartet).
Her current projects include recording a duet CD with acoustic guitar, a spring-themed recital to take place in May, playing with a bluegrass band, working on a soon-to-be-recorded CD with said bluegrass band, and a chamber music recital.
Her extra-musical passions include healthy eating and vegetarianism, working out, reading fascinating books, and enjoying evenings of salsa dancing on the weekends.
